Sometimes, we all need to remember that. Sometimes, whatever we're going through can seem so exciting, so daunting, so terrifying (not mutually exclusive, I've checked), that we have to take a moment and just breathe. Tonight, tomorrow, next week, whenever you start feeling overwhelmed, remember to breathe. At that moment when it feels like the walls are closing in, take a step back. Physically, mentally, however is necessary--even if just for a moment. Count to ten, instead of exploding in rage--it serves the same purpose. For every upset your world experiences, allow yourself the chance to assimilate new information.
As I have said before, my most successful method has been a combination of meditation and taking a walk in the woods. The phrase "go clear your head" is used often for a reason. The very act of changing locations is often enough to shift a person's mental gears.
Artists are said to breathe life into their work, animating it with intention and purpose. What kind of life do you want to instill in your breath? What do you want to create? What kind of legacy will you breathe into the world? Will it be pain and destruction, or joy and renewal? Will it be the end of everything or the beginning of something new? Sometimes, it's a razor's edge between the two. Remember to breathe.
Remember to breathe in deeply of the clean air, the warm sun's rays, and the silvered moon beams. The cosmos have always nourished humanity, whether through awe and a quest for knowledge or the acute need for Vitamin D. Breathe with the universe in an ever-shifting dance, expanding and contracting--the transmission of oxygen through human arteries is not so completely different from the constant, transformative, multi-verse shift that breathes life and potential through the vastness of space. Without breath there would be no life. Without breath, there would be no potential, no creation, no inspired dance of the senses.
I challenge you to breathe and breathe deeply. Expand your diaphragm, filing your lower lungs. Expand your rib-cage, filling your upper lungs. Reverse the process on the exhale. If you only breathe through your chest, it is a shallow and unfulfilled thing, devoid of true potential. I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and breathe with intention, to create the world you need to exist. Breathe it into being and make it so. It is possible.
Till next time,
Katheryn
